All About Jose Velazquez

Jose Velazquez has been passionate about drawing and animation for as long as he can remember. Growing up in Los Angeles, CA Jose had the art scene all around him, from murals of Chicano idols to movie stars in Hollywood. But what really established the love for the arts was overseas.
Growing up watching a lot of Saturday morning and After-School cartoons, Anime was a big part of that, especially Dragon Ball. The animation, the characters, the story, the music, the ART, all of it engulfed the wildest child fantasies which sparked a huge interest in working in the field of animation. 
Jose attended California State University of Long Beach and was the first in his family to graduate from a University with a Bachelors in Studio Arts. But that alone did not satisfy his desire to learn more, attending a Masterclass taught by two Pixar Supervisors, Matthew Luhn and Andrew Gordon instilled a new idea to always want to learn more, always keep that student mentality of wanting more. So a year after graduating Jose began his work towards a Masters Degree in Animation from the Academy of Art of San Francisco.
